Christmas and the New Year bring with them the question of what to do with your vacation time. In this edition of the Saffron Travel newsletter, we have the answers with some holiday ideas for Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to make sure you are celebrating in style.

Christmas is not an official holiday in Vietnam, but that doesn’t mean it’s not celebrated. Colourful decorations can be seen everywhere with most restaurants, hotels, bars and cafes making sure they looking very merry!

In the riverside city of Hoi An, you can partake in silk lantern workshop, making your own lantern to take home and learning all about their intriguing history.

Over in Cambodia, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh are where you will find lively New Year’s Eve parties, while places like the UNESCO listed town of Luang Prabang in Laos, offer quieter celebrations. Famous for its many Buddhist temples, here it is tradition to receive a blessing from a local monk to bring you health, happiness, and longevity in the new year.

And as the day ends, you and your loved ones gather for Salt & Pepper Tiger Prawns—juicy, savory, and crispy. It’s not just food, it’s a chill wind-down with your faves.
